Well-designed apps that may or may not really need to run automatically will have an option in their settings to turn that on or off. Note that unlike your PC, having extra RAM doesn't improve performance so much. I don’t want Pandora to start automatically (even with all settings turned to “off”), AND I don’t want it to remain open after I exit my car.
